To improve your 3D visual skills, you can take a photograph and study the lighting effect. Most people use direct V-Ray to adjust skin color, lighting effects, and environment. Since brightness and contrast is so important to 3d perspective, more realistic visuals can be accomplished by using Combustion in the post-processing.
